Ah, good ol' summer! With it comes a nice flow of action figures and plenty of chances to buy them, like conventions and festivals! However, sometimes the dealer's room, flea market, buying corner, or what have you will have a figure you're looking for at an outrageous price, nearly $20-$50 more than MSRP for a newly released figure. Unacceptable for your wallet! Sure, you might be at a con to spend money and have a good time, but the more deals you find means more figures you can buy.
The guide will be pretty simple to follow; I'll show you a pretty stock photo of the figure with the current Amazon price at the time this article was created (to save you the trouble of checking, and since it's popular) with another retailer if they offer a lower price. The following list will be for newer figures which are easy to get. For some figures which have been long out of production and have hit aftermarket prices, due diligence with sold eBay listings and secondhand Japanese sites will net you the best price.

Please note: This figure was released in Japan on June 24th, 2016. This figure will be officially released in the US at the end of July Some US retailers have received stock already, with the rest getting it in at the end of July. If you want it early, check secondhand Japanese sites to get it cheaper than you would at a con, or look around online.

These guys are a bit iffy. Seems like short production runs on some, namely 1954. However, for just a few bucks more, you can nab a good deal.

ReplyDeletei also feel like amazon is getting overpriced one time i bought a godzilla 2019 neca and wen i got it it had 2 left legs:( and i returned it never got it back and the price whent from 40 to 60 :o soo i dont trust amazon anymore only ebay and gamestop
